Uses: Butcher blocks, interior furniture (quarter-sawn lumber mainly), boxes (primarily food containers), crates, slack cooperage, flooring, pallets, handles, and veneer.

Distribution: Grows in eastern half of United States.

General Characteristics: Known as a medium- to fast-growing tree, the London planetree can attain a height of 70 to 100 feet with a crown spreading to 65 to 80 feet. It has an interlocked, irregular grain with a fine, even texture, As well as, reddish brown heartwood and lighter colored sapwood.
