General Characteristics: Known
as a medium- to fast-growing tree, the London planetree
can attain a height of 70 to 100 feet with a crown spreading
to 65 to 80 feet. It has an interlocked, irregular grain
with a fine, even texture, As well as, reddish brown heartwood
and lighter colored sapwood.

be difficult to work due to interlocked fibers. Splits
fairly easily. Turns easily and finishes smoothly. Glues,
screws, nails, and finishes satisfactorily.

shock resistant. Poor decay resistance and steam bending.
