| Upgrading
For The Future: Within the last couple months
we have been working hard to make some nice improvements
to our website. The first thing you will notice is our home
page. The redesign is a little simpler
but with a few quicklinks on the right side of the page.
If you refresh the page a few times you will notice the
quicklinks change upon every reload.
The second item we upgraded is our applications
page. This page did not change all the
much but we have added a few new applications that illustrate
a little more about what we can offer. We have a link to
our EcoPrem
Product Line of thermally modified decking,
siding, and fencing. There is a link to our decking
products which include Ipe, Massaranduba,
and the thermally modified PerfikDek.
After that is the newly designed Live
Edge and Specialty Slab Inventory. From
their you can peruse through either Hard Maple, Soft Maple,
Sapele, Pine, or Walnut planks. You will be able to see
a picture of the slab plank with information regarding the
thickness, width, and length of the various species. The
slab inventory itself is Flash based so you must have the
Adobe Flash Player plug-in installed in order to view the
inventory. Also as a warning, the slab inventory may take
up to 30 seconds to load on a dial up connection.
Those items listed above are the most recent changes to
the website however there are plenty more changes yet to
come, so on checking in
Signature
Moldings: Are you tired of seeing the plain
old profiles over and over again? Are you an Artist looking
to accent a painting with a unique picture frame? Then look
no further.
Here at Bailey Wood Products we have the capability of
producing truly custom moldings for our customers. With
a custom knife grinding capability, we can produce any profile
up to 9” wide in just about any thickness or length;
all you have to do is provide us with a wood sample, sketch
or CAD drawing and we will take it from there.
Just remember, a signature molding will set you apart from
the rest
.The
Malevolence Of Sawdust: Wood is so wonderful
to work with, the colors and textures can be so rich and
vibrant, but what lurks beneath the surface can suprise
you. As lumber is cut it produces sawdust, an obvious fact,
but what most people do not know is that sawdust is considered
a hazardous waste. Sawdust has the potential to ignite,
spontaneously or by a spark and as such should be stored
or disposed of in an appropriate manner.
Sawdust can also carry toxins which reside within the wood.
Some species can cause respiratory disorders, some species
can cause contact dermatitis issues, and some species can
do both. Exotic species have more of a tendency to cause
both problems, but some domestic species are just as likely
to cause the same issues.
So as a precaution, remember to wear those gloves and masks,
especially when dealing with woods you are not very familiar
with.
