Decking
Material: With summer approaching and with the
cookouts about to begin, you may be thinking about putting
up a new deck or renovating an existing one. We can offer
a few durable wood products that can withstand the weathered
years.

Ipe(Brazilian Walnut) Decking - This is one
of the hardest woods on the planet. Unlike softwoods, its
tighter grain allows for very slow water absorption preventing
cupping, bowing, and twisting. It is highly resistant to fungi
and termites. No harmful chemicals used for treatment. It
has a durability rating of 25 years. It is offered as an air-dried
product at 12% moisture content and the wood weighs approximately
64 pounds per cubic foot.

Massaranduba(Brazilian Redwood) Decking -
This is an environmentally responsible alternative to chemically
treated and composite decking products. Nearly blemish free,
Massaranduba is strong enough to use 1" boards in place
of 5/4" or 2" boards. Massaranduba is a dark red
wood which will fade to a silver gray if left untreated. To
retain the rich color, an oil based finish with ultraviolet
inhibitors is recommended. Regular cleaning and reapplication
of finish will ensure that the wood retains its luster for
many years.
We can provide these products in different
nominal widths in the decking. We can provide thicker material
for joists, stringers, treads, risers, and skirting as well
as railings, posts, and balusters.
